SCHOOL HOURS
7.40 a.m. to 2.45 p.m. It is compulsory for all students to be present for assembly in the morning. Students should, therefore, try and be in the school at least ten minutes before 7.40 a.m. i.e. at 7:30 a.m.
A strict view will be taken of students who are dropped off in front of the school gate. Courtesy and safety demand that vehicles are halted and students alight at some distance from the gate. This would ease the traffic situation and also help students to imbibe rules of common courtesy.
IMPORTANT TIMINGS
1. The school gate will close at 7:40 a.m. on each working day.
2. All late arrivals will be noted. STUDENTS WHO DEFAULT THRICE WILL BE SENT BACK HOME.
3. Office Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
4. The Principal or Vice Principal will meet parents between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on working Saturdays, with prior appointment only.
5. Parent Teacher Meeting on dates mentioned in School Almanac - Timings - 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
6. Slots will be allotted for parents. You are required to adhere to the timings.
7. Parents may also meet teachers with prior appointment on any working Saturdays. Timings: 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m
COMMUNICATION
We are a Microsoft Showcase School committed to the vision of impairing quality education using technology. Each child will be provided a Microsoft 365 ID which will enable them to access various application like Excel, word, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook and PowerPoint etc; The students can upload their assignments, activities and projects using Microsoft Teams.
For your convenience Cloud 9 App can be used for fee payment and to receive notifications, assignments and holiday homework from the school.
The school almanac is used for all communication to parents from the school.
Parents must, therefore, check the almanac on a daily basis.
Any communication from teacher needs to be acknowledged by the parents with a signature.
Parents can also communicate with the teacher through this almanac. Please advice your ward to bring the note to the class teacher's notice.
Parents are NOT permitted to visit their child or the teachers in the classrooms during school hours.
Please notify the school of any change of address, mode of transport or telephone number immediately, with a written application to the Principal.
Students must bepicked up by their parents only. No relatives or drivers are allowed to pick up the students from the school. A written application to the Principal must be made in case of such eventualities.
SCHOOL STATUS
This School is managed by the St. Mary’s Education Society. It is an unaided, Christian Minority School that practices an inclusive education policy. Admission is open to children of all communities. Students will be prepared for All India Secondary and Senior Secondary Examination under 10+2 scheme.
UNIFORM
All pupils, without exception, working are required to wear the school uniform on all occasions, whenever they come to school, on non-instructional days, including PTMs. Parents are requested to co-operate with tthe school authorities in this matter and see that their children are always neat and tidy, wearing uniforms which are clean and are in accordance with the school pattern.
The school uniforms compriseof the following for both boys and girls:-
- Full length trousers.
- Full sleeve cotton shirts.
- Grey socks with white stripes.
- Black leather shoes DAYZ available with Naval Costume.
- House T-shirts.
- Black rubber bands / black hair bands / black hair clips for girls.
- Grey woollen caps and mufflers.
- Grey jackets with hood.
- Grey sweaters with stripe.
- Students should not wear House T-shirs in winter.
The winter uniform should be worn from November 1st.

RULES OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
1. Parents are requested to cooperate with the school in seeing that their child follows the school rules of conduct and discipline.
2. The school is equipped with expensive smart boards, language labs, computer labs and science labs. Any physical damage to the school property will be viewed very strictly. The students will be responsible to make good the damages.
3. No student is allowed to drive a motorized vehicle during, before or after school hours. Non-observance of this rule may be punished with expulsion.
4. The name, class and section of the pupil should be clearly marked on all belongings of the students.
5. Girls should not apply nail polish or mehandi when the school is in session.
6. Expensivejewellery is not to be worn to school. Girls may wear only studs in their ears, while chains or ear-rings are not permitted. Boys must not wear rings, chains or ear-rings.
7. Girls are required to braid their hair. Short and neat haircuts are permissible for boys.
8. The school is not responsible for goods or money borrowed or lost.
9. Care must be taken of all school property and no student should scratch, spoil or damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage done, even by accident, should be reported at once to the school authorities. Parents will have to bear the cost of the same.
10. Expensive articles like ipods, mp3’s, mobile phones, etc. should not be brought to school. IF FOUND THEY SHALL BE CONFISCATED. However, should the parent decide to send a mobile with their ward for any reason, the student is required to hand it over to his/her class teacher / office. This would then be returned when the student leaves the school premises for the day.
11. Cycles must be kept locked and in the place provided.
12. Students moving along the corridors or changing classes must walk quietly.
13. No student shall remain in the class-rooms during the break and P.T period without the permission of the class teacher.
14. Students are strictly forbidden to introduce objectionable literature into the school.
15. The School reserves the right to dismiss a student whose conduct in the school or outside is harmful to other students.
16. Immorality, insubordination, discourtesy or dis-respect to teachers, contempt of authority or wilful damage to property is sufficient reason for dismissal.
17. Any student who uses unfair means during tests, examinations will liable for penalty.
18. A student who fails twice in the same class may not be permitted to continue in the school. Irregular attendance and unsatisfactory progress in academics on a regular basis will be considered similarly.
19. All students should bring the school almanac to school daily. If this is lost, a new one should be bought.
20. Students should not bring crackers, colours, etc. to the school. Bursting of crackers and playing with colours in school is liable for punishment.
21. Students must attend school functions and participate in them to the best of their ability. A student remaining absent from a school function, without permission, is likely to get low grades in the co-scholastic field of the report card.
22. Students' grades in the report card include timely notebook submission, co-scholastic areas and Work Education.
23. Students are not permitted to buy eatables from vendors at the school gates.
24. Students must bring their tiffin and water bottle along with them. Students must remember to bring their tiffin boxes with them. Parents / guardians will NOT be permitted to bring thereafter.
24. Bullying is strictly prohibited and no such act will go unnoticed or unpunished. Use of foul or abusive language, hitting or touching inappropriately is sufficient reason forsuspension / rustication.
SCHOOL IDENTITY CARD
For security reason it is compulsory for students to wear the I- cards to school every day.
Kindly ensure that the loss of the card is reported immediately and a duplicate be made at an extra cost.
BUS ROUTE WILL BE SET IN APRIL AND CONTRACT SIGNED WITH THE TRANSPORTER. NO NEW BUS STOPS OR DETOURS CAN BE MADE AFTER APRIL 20TH OR DURING THE REMAINDER OF THE SESSION.
SCHOOL TRANSPORT
Students can avail of the school transport subject to the availability of seats. The routes of the school buses are available at the office and parents should consult the school transport in-charge for necessary details.
1. Routes may be changed or discontinued due to constructions or maintenance of roads at the discretion of the management.
2. 11 months transport fee will be charged per year. Once it is opted for NO refund or discontinuation is allowed in the middle of the session.
FOR SELF-HIRED VANS
PARENTS ARE REMINDED TO CHECK THE ANTECEDANTS OF THE DRIVER BEFORE HIRING HIM TO TRANSPORT THEIR WARDS. Kindly fill out the ‘Van Driver Verification’ form provided.
Please note that a strict view will be taken for those who do not complete this.
Since the responsibility of your child’s safety till he/she reaches home rests on the school, it is IMPERATIVE that you also take the required steps.
BUS RULES
1. No student should stand near the doors of the bus until it has come to a complete halt.
2. All students must occupy the seats allocated to them immediately after boarding their buses.
3. The front door of the bus is the onlyauthorised entrance and exit.
4. The drivers are authorised to stop the buses at the designated stop only. The list of stops is prepared keeping in view the convenience and safety of all the students.
5. When the bus is in motion, students should not move around in the bus and no part of their body should be outside the bus.
6. Students will be held responsible for any damage to buses caused by negligence or vandalism.
7. Discarding of trash or food either inside or outside the buses is not permitted.
8. Unruly behaviour like shrieking and shouting is strictly prohibited. Courteous behaviour is expected at all times.
9. The driver’s attention must not be distracted for any reason.
10. The bus teacher and student bus monitors are responsible for maintaining discipline in the buses. Any serious offence must be reported to the Principal.
11. Students who do not adhere to the above rules will not be allowed to use of School transport.
ABSENCE
1. Students who have been absent on the previous day must bring a leave application from their parents and submit it to the class teacher. A suitable entry must also be made in the appropriate place in the school almanac(Pg 45).
2. It is compulsory for students to have at least 75% attendance in the year to make them eligible for promotion to the next class.
3. Students are not granted leave outside the regular vacation periods (except in case of illness).
4. In case of illness the school must be notified either before or on the first day of re-joining.
5. A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should produce a doctor’s certificate permitting him to do so.
6. A student with fever should be at home resting and will not be allowed to attend school even on test days. Half day leave will not be granted for any reason unless it is an emergency.
7. WHENEVER A WRITTEN TEST IS MISSED BY THE STUDENT DUE TO MEDICAL REASONS, THE SAME TEST WILL BE RESCHEDULED.
8. NO RETEST WILL BE GIVEN UNLESS IT IS ON MEDICAL GROUNDS. PLEASE NOTE THAT A ZERO WILL BE AWARDED FOR THAT TEST.
9. RETEST WILL BE SCHEDULED ONLY AFTER SCHOOL HOURS FOR STD. VI AND ABOVE.
